Here we have an update on my doll-making process. 🙂 Next time around I’ll have pictures of her face for everyone to see, and if my momentum continues to be good, I’ll have her legs finished as well. My next goal are her hands and feet, then I’ll worry about her joints…

Did I mention somewhere or another that I was making a doll…? Heh. ^_^ Well, I think it’s about time that I started showing her around.
Information: My plan was originally to have her be 37cm tall, and be essentially a short MSD, unfortunately I miscalculated the size of her torso and she is much slimmer than I wanted. Luckily, I like it a lot. She’s more like a tall tiny now, and I will probably make her shorter, maybe around 34cm or so. Her head size is 6-7″, and I’m truly hoping to cast her one day. My end goal is to have several head types, a second larger bust girl body (which should be really easy), and a boy body. Unfortunately, I don’t know the first thing about casting, so wish me luck! Until then, the sculpting has been a truly enjoyable process.
In the mean time, enjoy some actual pictures of what I’ve been doing. Don’t be fooled by these torso shots, I’ve actual had this done for a few months now, and I’m really sorry these are my first pictures, since the earlier process was neat looking. I will post more pictures in the next few days though since I’ve really picked up speed. When I’ve caught up to where she is currently updates will be slower since it takes so long for the clay to dry.

So, lately I’ve been keeping my eye on the new BJD company, Planetdoll, for their adorable (and inexpensive) little girls. I didn’t really have plans to add another female mini to the family considering I’ve just added two SD sized boys and am waiting on my first SD sized girl, but… Check out the mermaid they’re releasing soon! 😀
She’s so cute! From her tail to her ears to her little webbed fingers! The artist has definitely put a lot of attention to detail in the mold. As off-putting as the face-ups are on the website (err, no offense or anything ^^;), just looking at what other artists have done in the Flickr group has brought me that much closer to buying one… not to mention the price. I haven’t gotten a spark from Riz or Roseanne, but the mermaid… HMMMMMM…
